Marea is the owner and designer of A Designed Space. With over 13 years of industry experience, Marea has learned that working with a strong team is essential for the best outcomes and ensuring a fun process! Her work has ranged in scope from designing custom homes with clients, consulting on master plan communities, and designing model homes with builders, to selecting restaurant furniture for restaurateurs and developers. Whether it’s a place to live, work or visit, A Designed Space understands how these environments affect our lives and their impact on us daily. Marea is here to make your space work for you and add to your life.

Favorite space in San Diego? The La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla. I love that it is pink! And how they have preserved so much history while also keeping it current. It’s comfortable, classic, and always a good time.
Wishlist vacation: Europe, I haven’t been and it’s ridiculous.
Favorite quote: “Let her sleep – For when she wakes, she will move mountains.” (I love a good nap.)
First concert? Neil Diamond with my mom.
How do you stay active? Peloton bike and chasing my kids.

First concert: Well, it was Kanye West… but let’s pretend that never happened.
How do you stay active? By walking faster than anyone I’m with.
Color combinations you love or need to see more of: I’m a Virgo and we love order. Give me a natural color palette. Terra-cotta with creamy dreamy white has my heart forever but add in some earthy greens and browns, and I’m obsessed.
Favorite song, artist, or performer? Lana Del Rey — she’s my sad queen. It really resonated with me when she sang “ Yeah, my boyfriend’s pretty cool, but he’s not as cool as me.”
San Diego in winter, spring, summer, or fall? It’s always going to be late summer! The beaches are clearing out and the marine layer has melted away. I just love a warm summer night, mosquitos, and all!
