The Details, Carslbad
A client’s love of unique pieces of high quality should not have to be sacrificed during the “rough and tumble” years of raising a family. For this LA couple, the move to Carlsbad meant revisiting their furnishings from their young family to growing family, with the intention of keeping through their mature family years.
We achieved this goal by being mindful of the layout, material selections, and their maintenance. How does a white sofa work with this goal…? The fabrics selected had commercial-rated/family-friendly finishing treatments. And the wood table and chairs…? Oil-based treatments are natural sealers and allow the table to age naturally or be treated as frequently as the homeowner would like.
Viewpoints and relationships between pieces are very important in an open-plan living space. We treated the entire space as one by having the materials and textures speak to each other. While designating each space with unique pieces, wood tone, and layout are designated by architectural elements.
