More About Our Roots

Marea is the founder and principal designer of A Designed Space. With over 15 years in the industry, she’s learned that a strong team makes all the difference—ensuring beautiful outcomes and a process that’s actually fun.

Her experience spans custom homes, master-planned communities, and model homes for builders, as well as commercial projects like selecting furniture for restaurants and hospitality spaces. Whether it’s a place to live, work, or visit, Marea and her team understand how thoughtful design shapes our daily lives.

First concert: Jonas Brother's Burning Up Tour. AKA 10-year-olds screaming at the top of their lungs for 3 hours straight. I loved every minute of it.
How do you stay active? Chasing after my childhood dreams... Does that count as cardio?
Color combinations you love or need to see more of: Bring on the warmth! Whether it's in the form of deep oranges, burnt reds, golden yellows, or earthy tones, I need all the coziness!
Favorite song, artist, or performer? My music taste is a buffet of different genres, but right now my favorite artists are Still Woozy and Easy Life!
San Diego in winter, spring, summer, or fall? San Diego "seasons" are like having four different versions of paradise in one city. I make a mental note that each season is my favorite while we're in it.
