Going Up La Jolla
The best projects start with assembling the best team. Our La Jolla client understood that to achieve their dream coastal home, taking a house to the studs and adding a second level, getting their A-team was crucial. The outcome — a seamless project and a beautiful home!
The project began by working through layouts and the function of each space, moving into architectural elements and addressing the many points of indoor/ outdoor connection. The hub of the home, the Kitchen and Dining, is where the design was driven by the many activities of a growing family, so playing with flexibility was important.
The idea of a soothing space with natural elements, interesting and even bold moments with clean lines really spoke to our client. We determined early on this home would be combining transitional elements with coastal flair, easy cool looks in a refined approach, a true California Casual approach. The flooring selected was warm and textured, the walls a taupey white which gave us a great canvas to add color and texture throughout.
