La Jolla B+W
La Jolla B+W is a West Coast home with an East Coast soul. When our clients moved from New York, they wanted to carry pieces of their past with them while embracing the relaxed, coastal lifestyle of La Jolla’s Wind & Sea community—a design challenge that became an opportunity to blend two distinct worlds.
The renovation focused on the heart of the home: the kitchen and bathrooms. Our goal was to weave the couple’s bold, personal style into modern, functional spaces while enhancing everyday living.
Expanding the square footage allowed for their dream corner fireplace, creating a cozy focal point while improving flow and openness throughout the home. The addition brought warmth and functionality, making the space both inviting and practical.
The design language is crisp, contemporary, and playful: black-and-white color blocking paired with deep wood-grain cabinetry, carefully curated fixtures, and whimsical art and furnishings. Skylights and enlarged windows flood the home with natural light, balancing bold contrasts with warmth, texture, and personality.
